The psychological aspects of obesity

This bachelor thesis aims to the psychological aspects of obesity with an emphasis to the role of depressive symptomatic. In the first chapter, there is brief information about depression and obesity as separate diagnoses. The second, the most comprehensive chapter, is concerned with a comorbidity of these diseases. It contains information about prevalence, development mechanisms and intervention options. The third chapter summarizes information about a role of psychology in bariatric surgery with an emphasis to depression. The research part aims to the body image and its effect on the relationship between depression and obesity. Keywords overweight, obesity, depression, body image
